At 9 AM July 22 EST (9 PM July 22 CST), the latest issue of Fortune released the 2015 list of Fortune 500. BAIC Group  made the list for the third consecutive year, ranking 207th with operating revenues of USD 50.566 billion, up 41 places from last year, continuing to elevate its business performance and ranking.

In 2014, BAIC achieved operating revenues of RMB 311.56 billion yuan (exceeding 300 billion yuan for the first time) ,up 15.4 percent and sales of 2.401 million units, up 10.9 percent year-on-year respectively. The outstanding market performance proved that BAIC has joined the ranks of major international automakers with the rapid development of its products and brands.

In recent years, BAIC has integrated advanced global technical resources and reached a new level in terms of brand building. By acquiring, assimilating and re-innovating Saab’s core intellectual property in 2009, BAIC launched models such as the A113/A115, A315, A520T/A523T, and the X65 and has attained total coverage of the A0, A, A+, B, and SUV segments. In 2014, BAIC deepened its cooperation with Daimler AG and has been developing general aviation in cooperation with AgustaWestland and Pacific Aerospace. In 2015, BAIC established the BAIC MBtech DevelopmentCenter with MBtech Group GmbH & Co. KGaA to keep moving on the road of globalization.

New energy vehicle development has become the main focus of BAIC for the future. In 2014, BAIC ranked among the world’s top four and first in China in terms of electric vehicle sales, with its new energy vehicle sales up 238 percent year-on-year. BAIC has already forged partnerships such giants as Siemens AG, Atieva, and SK Group, establishing the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturing base in Shandong, China.

In light of China’s “Internet Plus” (“Internet+”) strategy, to forge its way into the smart car ecosystem, BAIC is developing its own Internet-based intelligent vehicle smart system, the EUI OS, and the IOV system, to provide customers with a more comfortable and high-tech driving experience.

Amid the industrial slump in the first half of 2015, BAIC maintained positive growth with sales of 1.187 million units. BAIC is taking its new entry in the Fortune 500 as a starting point to continue to go global and deliver technology-oriented, safe, quality, and environmentally-friendly solutions to anyone in pursuit of happy travel paired with efficient transport, so as to become a guide for good travelling life.
